Scoharie County, 1st quarter-19th century, pine. Original blue painted field with a seven-color decoration. Dovetailed case with square nailed feet. Minor wear to feet and ring on lid. h. 19.5" w 42.25" d. 17.5" Ex Peter Tillou (Connecticut).
Estimate $4,000-6,000

Old varnish with some darkening on front panel and right front corner but blue is still strong. Top has some wear and ring stain. Minor edge wear, wear to feet, front left has some loss and pieced repair. Lid and bottom have age splits. Interior till. No inpainting under blacklight. 1/14
