AMERICAN SHERATON MULE CHEST.
Possibly Southern, 2nd quarter-19th century, yellow pine. Dovetailed case with applied lid molding, two blind doors below and turned feet. Original mustard yellow grained paint with green trim. Good dry surface. Wear, age split, missing lock keeper. 39.5"h. 37.25"w. 19.25"d.
Estimate $600-900

Age splits in bottom board, edge wear and nicks. Overall surface wear. Split at one hinge, some loss at other hinge, both hinges have replaced bottom screws. Lid has added interior chains. 3/14
