AMERICAN SHERATON SUGAR CHEST.
Probably Kentucky, ca. 1820s, cherry with pine secondary. Dovetailed case, turned legs, dovetailed drawer with applied beading, and lift lid with molded edge. Divided interior. Refinished, age splits in lid. 37"h. 24.75"w. 18.5"d.

Old replaced lid (removed lock on case, no corresponding evidence of hardware on bottom of lid). Age splits in lid, sides and in bottom of case. One piece, no evidence of replaced base. Poplar secondary. 3/7
